Study IT abroad from Nepal

For IT and computer science, Australia, Germany and Finland are where most of our students go: Australia for its job market, Germany for low tuition, Finland for scholarships. You'll need maths in your +2 for most bachelor's, or an IT degree for most master's. Last year 264 of our 286 IT files were approved.

Cybersecurity, data science and software engineering are the most asked-about specialisations. The specialisation matters less than the projects and internships you finish.

Entry requirements

What you need from Nepal

  • After +2: science with maths for most computer science and software engineering bachelor's. Management students can look at business IT or information systems.
  • For a master's: a related bachelor's (BIT, BSc CSIT, BCA, BE Computer). Graduates from other fields can take a conversion master's in the UK or Australia.
  • Low marks: diplomas that lead into a bachelor's (Australia), entrance exams (Finland), or applied sciences (Netherlands).
  • English: IELTS 6.0 to 6.5, or PTE or TOEFL.

Levels and course types

Which level fits you

  • Diplomas that lead into year 2 of a bachelor's, for lower marks.
  • Bachelor's in computer science, IT, software engineering or data science (3 to 4 years).
  • Master's, including conversion master's for non-IT graduates (1 to 2 years).

Registration and language

Before you can work in the field

IT has no licence to practise. For migration later, Australia uses a skills assessment by the Australian Computer Society, which checks how closely your degree matches the job.

Language matters more than people expect: in Germany, Finland and the Nordic countries, local language opens the jobs outside big tech companies.

After study

Jobs, honestly

IT pays well once you're in, but the first job is the hardest part, and entry-level roles are competitive everywhere. Graduates who get hired usually have an internship, a portfolio of real projects and, in Europe, some of the local language.

Start building projects in your first semester. A GitHub profile with finished work counts for more than a list of courses.

How we help

Your it and computer science application

We match the course to your background (a visa officer will check that it follows), find diploma or entrance exam routes if your marks are low, and plan language study for Germany or Finland.

For master's, we check that your bachelor's subjects meet the course's specific requirements, the most common reason for rejection in IT.

An honest note

This isn't the right course for you if

  • You chose IT only because it's on a PR list. It's crowded at entry level.
  • You won't do projects or internships outside class. That's what gets graduates hired.
  • Your +2 had no maths and you want a pure computer science degree.

Questions about studying it and computer science abroad

Which country is best for IT for Nepali students?

Australia for its job market, Germany for low tuition, Finland for scholarships and entrance exams. The best one depends on your marks, your budget and whether you'll learn a language.

Can I study IT abroad after +2 management?

Yes, in business IT or information systems, and some diplomas. Pure computer science usually needs maths.

Can I study IT in Germany for free?

Tuition is free at most public universities, but you'll need the €11,904 blocked account for living costs, and after +2 usually a Studienkolleg year. See Germany.

Is IT a good choice for PR?

IT occupations appear on several countries' skill lists, but entry-level competition is high. Choose IT because you'll do the work, not only for PR.

Can I study IT with low +2 marks?

Yes: diplomas that lead into a bachelor's in Australia, entrance exams in Finland, or applied sciences in the Netherlands. Bikash went the diploma route.
