Best courses to study abroad for Nepali students

The courses Nepali students choose most are business, IT, nursing, engineering and hospitality. The best one for you is a course you can get into, finish, and work in afterwards, not just one on a PR list. Nursing, IT and engineering have the strongest job markets; business is the most crowded.

After +2 or after a bachelor's?

  • After +2 science: nursing, IT, engineering, sciences. Germany usually needs Studienkolleg first; Australia has diplomas for lower marks.
  • After +2 management: business, hospitality, accounting, business IT. Most nursing and pure computer science need science.
  • After a bachelor's: a master's in the same or a related field reads best to visa officers. Changing field is possible with a clear reason and some experience.
  • With work experience: MBA, public health and specialised master's. Your experience is your strongest argument.

How to choose a course, honestly

  • Background match. Visa officers check that your course follows from your +2, degree or work. This is the most common reason business files are refused.
  • Total cost. Tuition plus living costs for the whole course, not just year 1. Each country page has the numbers.
  • Registration or licensing. Nursing and some engineering jobs need registration in that country. Check before you pay.
  • Language. In Germany, Finland and the Nordic countries, the local language decides your job options.
  • The job market, not the PR list. Lists change; a course you can work in lasts.

Questions about choosing a course

Which course is in high demand abroad for Nepali students?

Nursing, IT and engineering, in most of our countries. Demand isn't the same as an easy route: nursing needs registration and a high English score, and IT entry-level jobs are competitive.

Which course is best for PR?

No course guarantees PR, and skill lists change. Nursing, engineering and IT appear on more lists than business or hospitality. Choose a course you'll work in either way.

What is the best course after +2 science to study abroad?

Nursing, IT, engineering or sciences, depending on your marks and budget. See nursing, IT and engineering.

What is the best course after +2 management to study abroad?

Business, accounting, hospitality or business IT. See business and MBA, accounting and hospitality.

Can I change my field when I study abroad?

Yes, with a clear reason and ideally some experience in the new field. Visa officers question changes they can't follow. Anjali moved from architecture to interaction design with a portfolio that explained it.
