Not sure which country? Start with these 5 questions

  • What can your family show, and for how long? Australia and the UK need the most; Germany, Finland and Cyprus the least.
  • What are your marks and English? Lower marks open pathway routes in Australia, entrance exams in Finland and applied sciences in the Netherlands.
  • Will you learn another language? Germany, Finland and the Nordic countries reward it in the job market.
  • Does family need to come with you? The UK no longer allows it on taught master's; other countries have their own rules.
  • What do you want after study? Australia gives the longest post-study stay; Cyprus has no general post-study permit.

Questions about choosing a country

Which country is best for Nepali students to study abroad?

There isn't one best country. For a big job market and the longest post-study stay, Australia. For low tuition, Germany. For scholarships, Finland. For the lowest total cost, Cyprus. The right one depends on your money, marks, English and plans.

Which is the cheapest country to study abroad from Nepal?

Among the countries we cover, Cyprus (about Rs 22 lakh to Rs 37 lakh for the first year) and Germany at a public university (about Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh).

Which country lets students work the most hours?

Australia: 48 hours a fortnight in term and unlimited in breaks. Finland allows 30 hours a week on average. Sweden cut its limit to 15 hours a week for permits granted from 11 June 2026.

Which countries give a post-study work visa?

Australia (2 to 3 years), the UK (2 years if you apply by 31 December 2026), Germany (18 months), Finland (up to 2 years), the Netherlands and Belgium (12 months), Sweden (up to 12 months), Norway (up to 1 year) and Denmark (establishment card). Cyprus doesn't have a general one.

Can I apply to two countries at the same time?

Yes, and it's often smart. Keep both files moving and compare offers on the same sheet. Sarina applied to Denmark and the Netherlands and chose with the numbers side by side.
