How the course works
Your weeks, from level test to result
TOEFL changed on 21 January 2026: Reading and Listening now adapt to how you're doing, the test is shorter, and scores come on a new 1 to 6 scale (with the 0 to 120 score also shown for 2 years). Practice material from before 2026 is out of date; ours isn't.

The TOEFL exam in Nepal: fee, dates and results
TOEFL iBT is run by ETS. You can take it at a test centre in Kathmandu, or at home (TOEFL iBT Home Edition) if your university and visa accept it.

Australia's student visa doesn't accept at-home tests. If you're going to Australia, take TOEFL at a test centre, or choose IELTS or PTE.

Which test is right for you?
TOEFL is the smallest of the three in Nepal. It makes sense when your university lists it, or when you're comfortable with an academic, fully computer-based test.

What TOEFL score do you need?
TOEFL requirements are still often given on the 0 to 120 scale while universities update to the new 1 to 6 scale. Typical ranges for the students we place:

Then what?
Your score is the start. Every class student gets a free counselling session on where the score takes you, the full cost and when to apply.
An honest note
This isn't the right class for you if
- You need your score in under 2 weeks.
- You want a guaranteed score. Nobody can promise one.
- You're going to Australia and planning the home edition. The visa won't accept it.
- You need a morning or midday batch. TOEFL runs in the evening only.

Is TOEFL harder than IELTS?
It's different, not harder. TOEFL is fully academic and on computer; IELTS has a face-to-face speaking test. Students who read and write academic English comfortably often prefer TOEFL.
Is TOEFL cheaper than IELTS in Nepal?
Yes, at the moment: USD 195 (about NPR 29,700) against NPR 36,000 for IELTS. Fees change, so check both before you book.
