How to choose the best consultancy in Kathmandu for Australia
The best consultancy for Australia is the one that can show you how many Australia files it lodged last year and how many were refused, checks your money papers with your bank before lodging, and tells you what the university pays it. Australia refuses on two things, money and reasons. Judge every consultancy on how it handles those two.

Why we don't publish a "top 10" list
Search for the best Australia consultancy in Kathmandu and you'll find lists of 10. Most are written by a consultancy that puts itself first, or by a directory that charges to be listed. None of them shows a single refused file.
We'd rather give you the questions that separate a good Australia consultancy from a busy one, and let you ask them of anyone, including us. Ask for Australia results, not a total
A consultancy's overall success rate hides more than it shows. Ask for Australia only, for one named year, counted from files lodged, and ask how many were refused.

Any consultancy quoting 100% for Australia is either not counting refusals or not telling the truth. Home Affairs publishes official grant rates by citizenship, so you can check the overall picture yourself.
The Australia-specific checks
These are the parts of an Australia file where a consultancy's skill shows, or doesn't.
- The course is on CRICOS. Only courses on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students can lead to a student visa. Check any course on cricos.education.gov.au before you pay.
- The consultancy is an authorised agent of that university. Most Australian universities publish their agent list on their website. If the consultancy isn't on it, ask how it's applying for you.
- The money file is verified, not just collected. Ask whether they call your bank to confirm the balance certificate and loan letter before lodging. An officer can.
- You write your Genuine Student answers. The consultancy should check them against your documents, not hand you a template. Our Genuine Student guide shows what officers look for.
- Counsellors are trained for Australia. Many Australia counsellors hold PIER's Qualified Education Agent Counsellor (QEAC) certificate. Ask who will handle your file, and for how long they've done Australia files.
- The course follows your background. A consultancy that pushes a cheap diploma unrelated to your degree is setting up a Genuine Student refusal.
Ask what the university pays the consultancy
You should know what the university pays us. Australian universities and colleges usually pay agents 10 to 15% of a student's first-year tuition. That's how consultancies really make money, and almost none of them tell you. We write our commission into your contract, so you can judge whether our advice is about your future or our commission.
Commission rates differ between institutions. If a consultancy steers you towards one college you've never heard of, ask why that one, and what it pays. A good answer is about your marks, budget and course, not about the college.
Red flags for Australia files
- An offer to "arrange" a bank balance, a loan letter or experience letters
- A Genuine Student answer handed to you already written
- A promise that your visa is certain, or that PR is guaranteed after your course
- Pressure to choose a private college because "the visa is easier"
- No straight answer on how many Australia files were refused last year
False documents in an Australian visa file can lead to a refusal and a bar on most Australian visas for years. That risk is yours, not the consultancy's.
